The cultural key
Every hearer knew the scene: harvested grain tossed into the evening breeze with a wooden fork; heavy kernels fall back to the floor, worthless husks blow aside to be swept up and burned. A stock prophetic image (Psalm 1:4; Isaiah 41:15–16) for judgment as a sorting.
Recovered meaning
The Coming One will separate what is substantial from what is hollow: same field, same plants, sorted by weight. Judgment as revelation of what each thing really is.
