Gospel Decoded Help & How-to

Creating an account

An account is free and unlocks the ability to bookmark entries, group them into collections, and add private study notes. Your library then follows you wherever you sign in. Here's how to set one up.

At a glance
  1. Click Sign in at the top-right of the site
  2. In the pop-up, click Create account
  3. Enter your email and a password
  4. You're in — your email shows in the corner and Your library appears
1

Open the sign-in pop-up

Click Sign in in the top-right corner of any page.

Gospel Decoded Sign in Click Sign in to start
2

Choose "Create account"

The pop-up defaults to signing in. Since you don't have an account yet, click the Create account link — not the gold Sign in button.

  1. Type your email in the first box and a password in the second.
  2. Click Create account.

Password tip: pick something you don't use elsewhere. Notes and bookmarks are private to your account, so a strong password keeps them yours.
3

You're signed in

That's it. Your email now shows in the top-right with a Sign out option, and a Your library button appears in the navigation.

If you ever see a message asking you to confirm your email, open the message we send and click its link, then sign in again.

Bookmarks & collections

Once you're signed in, you can bookmark any entry, group your bookmarks into collections (for example a sermon series or a study topic), and jot a private note on each one. Here's the whole flow, step by step.

At a glance
  1. Sign in (see Creating an account)
  2. Make a collection to group entries by topic
  3. Bookmark an entry with its ribbon
  4. Add that bookmark to a collection
  5. Open Your library to see everything
1

Create a collection

Collections are folders for your bookmarks — one per sermon, series, or study theme.

  1. Click Your library in the top navigation.
  2. Type a name in the New collection name box (e.g. "Sunday sermon").
  3. Click Create. Your new collection appears below, empty and ready.
Your library Browse Your library 0 saved in 0 collections New collection name Create Name it, then click Create Sunday sermon 0 entries Empty — add entries from their bookmark ribbon.
Shortcut: you can also make a collection straight from an entry — after you bookmark it, click the dashed + new chip (see Step 3).
2

Bookmark an entry

Every entry card has a bookmark ribbon in its top-right corner.

  1. Find an entry you want to keep.
  2. Click the ribbon. An outline ribbon means "not saved"; it fills gold once saved.

3

Add the entry to a collection

As soon as an entry is bookmarked, a small panel appears under it.

  1. Look under the saved card for Add to collection: followed by a chip for each collection.
  2. Click a chip to file the entry there — it fills in to show it's added. Click again to remove it.
  3. Optionally type a private note in the box below.

Open Your library

Click Your library any time to see everything you've saved, grouped by collection.

  1. Each collection shows its name, a colored edge, and how many entries it holds.
  2. Click any entry to open it in a pop-up — read it without losing your place, then close to return.
  3. Entries you saved but haven't filed appear under Not in a collection.

Your bookmarks, collections, and notes are private to your account and sync wherever you sign in.

Remove a saved entry

There are two kinds of "remove": taking an entry out of one collection (but keeping it saved), or removing it from your library entirely. Both start by opening the entry.

At a glance
  1. In Your library, click the entry to open it
  2. To take it out of a collection: click that collection's filled-in chip
  3. To remove it from your library completely: click the gold bookmark ribbon
1

Open the entry

In Your library, click the saved entry you want to change. It opens in a pop-up, so you never lose your place.

2

Take it out of a collection

Under the open card, in Add to collection:, the collections it belongs to are filled in. Click a filled-in chip to remove the entry from that collection. It stays saved — if it's no longer in any collection, it moves to Not in a collection.

ADD TO COLLECTION: Sunday sermon Advent + new Click a filled-in chip to remove from it
3

Remove it from your library entirely

Click the gold bookmark ribbon at the top-right of the card. It turns back to an outline, which unsaves the entry and removes it from every collection. (Its private note is deleted too.)

Your library updates live — as soon as you remove an entry or take it out of a collection, the lists reshuffle and the counts adjust.
